Mall of Scandinavia presented at Vinge business lunch

On a snowy Tuesday, 8th of February, the members of the French Chamber of commerce had the privilege to be invited to Vinge lawfirm for a business presentation by Unibail-Rodamco Nordic, as well as for a nice lunch.  Johan Göthberg, Partner of Vinge’s French Desk, welcomed the guests and introduced the key note speaker Olivier Coutin, CEO of Unibail-Rodamco Nordic.

Besides an introduction of the Unibail-Roamco group the presentation concerned mainly the new Mall of Scandinavia which aims to be the biggest and the most prestigious shopping mall in all of Scandinavia. The presentation varied between general guidelines in how managing big malls, of what is doing them so successful and of course, the big project at hand. Their successful strategy focuses on a mix of 3 main ideas: put together the best commercial offer (attract the best brands), in an attractive environment (renovating and modernizing), supported by strong marketing actions.

To start up a project as the Mall of Scandinavia is not an easy task. It requires not only huge investments but also patience due to the long lifespan in finally having the mall completed. This project will last for eight years, from first sketch to grand opening, which is normal according to Olivier Coutin, while declaring that the doors will be opened for customers in autumn 2015. The “Mall of Scandinavia” will be located in Solna and will cover an area of 100 000 sqm, 250 shops and 3 800 free parking spaces. All this will be included in a new district with as well new offices, housing and new stadium.

It will be somewhere you want to take your kids and family for a weekend trip, not only because it will have great shopping, but also a huge variety of restaurants and a range of leisure activities including cinema.
